Skillset Shuffle is a card-based deck-building game, tasking the player with rebuilding various construction projects gone awry through turn-based play. Developed in collaboration with Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC), players choose from a line-up of larger-than-life playable characters representing various construction professions—including an electrician, an IT specialist, and a welder—and progressively customize their deck of cards. Each card represents a specific tool or skill, such as a hammer, a hard hat, “attention to detail”, or “team player”. All this while maintaining good mental and physical health by staying hydrated and making balanced career choices to progress the game.

This was created in collaboration with Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC) as part of a student project at QUT in an effort to design a game that would interest young women in the construction industry.

The Quit button does not work

Man, I don't know about the profiling in this.  The game's backbone is fine, but the racial differentiation leads to different optimal playstyles (except actually everyone should play Astra, probably), which leads to different final results, assuming the final results aren't literally just based off what character you pick. That's not great when this leads to you saying black women should do hands-on labor while white women work in accounting/engineering/management/etc.

Not to mention the role 'well being' plays in the game.  Everyone should sacrifice it a fair bit, since you can regenerate it in-level via the deckbuilding mechanics, and Astra with her extra energy ability can afford to sacrifice it as much as possible at every opportunity, basically.  Is that the message you want to be sending? It's possible this extra incentive to sac well being for money in events is what's triggering the racism problem, too.

Also, the game seems unable to track money.  I made 50$ in the first event on my second playthrough but it was gone by the time the second event came around and I took the safe 100$ instead of 75$ in average value.

Also, your cards are incredibly OP, but given that there are only 3 fights so far presumably that's ok and if you expand it you'd increase the difficulty later.  Nevertheless, I only ever took damage with Astra, and that was on purpose to make sure my healing cards work.

Hi! Thanks for playing our game and your detailed and insightful comment!

I'm so sorry that it came off that way, we aimed to showcase diversity with our characters. It was certainly an oversight on our behalf about the final results.

I've updated the end scene to be a snippet of roles in the industry, along with a few other tweaks like headers, making the fights slightly harder as you progress and getting the money to track.
